Even though I am not a beginner much of what was presented is exactly how I eventually came to shoot much of the time. But, I never compress anything until "export" for Printing or Web Publishing. I use Spot Metering as I have experience shooting with a hand held spot meter. And yes I use Av mode most of the time. Since I mostly shoot close-ups of flowers and shoot landscapes I use one point Auto Focus when I use AF.
So I'd have to agree with most of the article for beginners, not 100% though. One thing I found interesting about the article was some of the screen shots of different camera "screens". It seems the Canon one(s) look most like my Pentax cameras, as well as the use of Av, Tv instead of Nikon's A & S. Cool little article. Thanks Vince68.
As a beginner, nice to get some logic behind a starting point. I can experiment as I learn from there
This is very very helpful - thank you!
Your welcome Mike. There are always a lot of new Hogs that I felt might be interested in the link and would find info that would answer lots of questions they might have. Also, I thought there might be other members that although not beginners, they might find some useful info as well. Thanks for your input Mike.
Your welcome David. Glad you liked it.
Thanks Vince. The image of the little girl reminded me of one feature of my a6300 that I use with my granddaughter, but also with models. It is Eye-AF. You can set it to do regular AF-S, etc. but also for it to hunt out eyes and focus on them. Since eyes are the key in people shots, this is very handy.
