My wife and I recently returned from a Viking River Cruise beginning in Budapest and ending in Amsterdam. We found Budapest to be a "hidden" gem. It is a wonderful city very reminescent of Paris. The Danube flows through the city, with beautiful bridges and buildings colorfully lit at night. Andrassy Avenue is considered the Champs Elysee of Budapest by some. Of course, it is a large city and cannot escape the grafitti, homelessness and other characteristics unfortunaely associated with any city. Here are a few photos in which I hope to capture the flavor of the city. In the coming weeks, I will post many more of Budapest and the other cities we visited on our way to Amsterdam. I hope you enjoy. As always, comments and criticism welcome.

Beautiful photos. Thanks for the mini-trip!
Wonderful! Please post more of Budapest. I lived there back when it was under communist control behind the Iron Curtain, and only got back there once in the 1990s. As you say, it's a wonderful city. I'd like to see more!
What a wonderful selection. I'm looking forward to more posts from your trip. The trip sounds terrific. I have thought about such a trip, but haven't decided if I can physically do it or not.
We did Budapest to Prague on an Avalon riverboat. One of our favorite trips. Budapest was beautiful as was Prague. Very nice set. Will look for more.
I lived in Budapest in '93-'95. Nice to see the city again and that many things seem not to have changed.
Well done, great group of photos.

Beautiful set, Steven. I am booked on a Danube cruise in 2018 so I would love to see more of your trip as well.
