very nice shots! I love the petunia...the purple ones usually smell so good.
the last shot is an unusual plant and one I haven't had the pleasure of seeing until now.
it's beautiful!

Thanks, Merry. It was the first time I had ever seen a curcuma -- and I came home with two. They are tropical and I must bring them in once night temps drop below 60. Keeping them alive till spring is going to be a real challenge!

Now thank goodness your camera still works!!
Beautiful set, Sherry... I enjoyed them all, especially the petuna and the last image... gorgeous colors on all!!

Thanks, Angela. The petunia is a very small bloom on a plant that produced very little. The curcuma must be brought in over winter - another one - but you know all about that!

All are absolutely beautiful, Sherry, and clever you to think of a way to keep your sunpatiens watered. Your last one is also called Hidden Ginger, but you probably already knew that. They like lots of water, as you've already found out, partial shade and regular fertilizing. Mine didn't even pretend to bloom this year for some reason.

Thank you, Donna. The sunpatiens found their way into the splash line last year when the drought had me watering them constantly! While topping off the fountain, a lightbulb went off. I hate to hear your curcuma didn't bloom - but it did live? I really don't have the space or any lighting strong enough to bring them into the house, and the porch temp is difficult to maintain during the worst of winter. The space heaters serve the dogs well, but I'm not sure it'll do the job well enough for these tropicals.

Beautiful Sherry, that last one is very unusual...

Thank you, Ron. My internet source tells me the curcuma is native to northern Australia, so you're at least on the same continent! Each plant had two blooms when I bought them, and now each has four - so maybe I'm doing something right.

Nice Set..!! I had some Curcuma last year and really enjoyed having in my Garden...Could not find any this season..Enjoy yours..!!

Thank you for looking and for your kind comment, Carlo. The curcuma is going to be challenging. I'm hoping I can keep it in the same pot and just set it out again next spring. Not sure how much cold the rhizomes will endure but I guess I'll find out.

Just be sure you don't bring in any critters when you bring it in.. I don't usually put houseplants outside, put my beautiful little mini rose plant out, it finally bloomed... but then something ate all the leaves!! It was some really tiny little caterpillar of some kind and now I had to cut the whole plant down, hope it comes back.:-(
So spray before you bring it in!!!

Thanks for that warning, Angela! I depend mainly on my anoles for pest control. I do have some chewed up leaves but haven't yet figured out how to avoid that and not hurt the critters I'm trying to attract. I'm so many years behind in all this gardening stuff.
