Sad and interesting. What I hate to see are roadside memorials for people killed there. I'd rather have them honored in a cemetery, rather than at the place of their death.

I was up in eastern Oregon for the eclipse. There are some very old cemeteries in the area where I was.
many of the old wooden headstones had long ago rotted away and there was an effort by the local boy
scouts to replace many of the markers with small simple crosses like this.
