Wanted to let all of the UHH people living in the area that will be affected by Hurricane Harvey know that my thoughts and prayers are with you for your safety and that of your families.

Ditto! I live in Texas, but thankfully far enough from the coast to avoid the worst of the storm. Just rain in the forecast for the next 2 days.

I'm about 30 miles north of Houston. As yet, haven't had that much rain, but the worst is yet to come for here.

I thank you for the prayers, and good wishes.

Very kind of you. A friend just came back from dropping off 2 of his kids at college in Houston. I live in San Antonio and have seen what heavy rain can do there.

It comes to mind that during the fuel crisis in the 70s of a bumper sticker I saw on a car from Texas: "Drive 90 and freeze a Northerner's ass off!"

GOD bless and be with you all who will be effected by this enormous storm. People do not realize what a force 130 MPH winds are like, gusts are bad enough but a constant blow will destroy a lot of things. Also most people don't realize what a force water can be once it starts moving you can't stop it. It will take you down very quick. Please all stay away from flowing water. I know it may be hard but get out while you can if you haven't already. All our thoughts are with you and good luck!!

Tom

Let me second the thoughts and concerns for Texas, especially Houston. The hurricane has already hit there, but it is not over. The destruction is terrible at this time and it is going to get worse.
