Prayers for the Texas Gulf Coast

Hurricane Harvey is strengthening as it bears down on the Texas Gulf Coast. Dead center in it's path are the small seaside towns of Rockport and Port Aransas where we photographed the critically endangered Whooping Cranes last winter. Those towns were barely above sea level and I'm sure they will suffer tremendous damage from the huge storm surge. Hopefully everyone gets evacuated safely.
Also at risk it the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge which is winter home to the Whooping Cranes. I have no idea what the storm may do to their habitat but it may not be good. There are only a few hundred cranes left in existence.
Here are a few pre-dawn photos I got during the happier times of the mating season.

Nice images but your are correct. Hurricanes are not nice. Living in S. E. Louisiana I have experienced too many of them.

Prayer are needed, it looks like much of Rockport is gone according to news coming from the region.
