I had hoped to photograph the Milky Way over the mountains in east Meadows. However, the exceeding bright full moon simply overpowered the Milky Way. Instead I decided to take what I was given and capture the complete peace the seemed to fill the valley. For the record, my shadow was so bright as it fell on the meadow that it looked like mid day. I could actually read a newspaper by the light of the moon. My nearly two mile walk in the dark of night to get to the meadow did not require a flashlight, even when under the trees.
Please enjoy my rendition of a peaceful, beautiful night.

Thank you for the compliment.
Actually there was nothing to it. Start with a 2 mile uphill hike to reach the meadow. Then select a composition. (That was the hard part) Then get the shot. Well actually shots. This is 3 shots taken in vertical position. Then merged into a pano. Actually there were three shots of each position. These were merged into three separate panos. Then placed in Aurora HDR to create a final HDR photo. This was then returned to Lightroom for final touch up to achieve the finished print.
See---really nothing to it! :-)

I see - was there a camera involved??
(Just kidding)
Well, I would expect that YOU (Sirius) would be able to see the stars!!!!
And you are quite right------this was so beautiful, and peaceful, that I finished shooting and then just sat on a rock for 20 minutes in the middle of the night enjoying just being there. I really didn't want to leave, but a storm was building and I didn't want to stay longer and get soaked on the trail...
Oh you're so right, Larry. Download is an absolute must. Just beautiful!!!

Glad you enjoyed this one. Hard to capture this scene effectively, so I'm really glad it turned out.
Thanks for looking and commenting.
Thanks for commenting Sylvias. Deciding how much of the shadows to preserve was tricky. But I think it worked to preserve the mood of the original scene.
