I went to Howell Michigan Saturday for the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest - Been chasing Hot-Air Balloons since I was a kid in Jackson Michigan.
Feel free to post any you may have - Balloons come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

I love hot air balloons! Those are some amazing pictures, color, clarity, very nice. Silly me passed up a chance for a ride in a hot air balloon while visiting AZ in Feb.

Thanks Mike - I struggled with the focus a bit - it doesn't seem like it - but they actually move pretty quick - at least from a focus stand-point....tried different DOF's too - was fun.

Very nice shots!! Did you get there early enough to see them getting ready? Shots in the really morn with the burners going are awesome. I will have to dig around for some of mine.
It is surprising how fast they do move away. You have to be fast to get the good shots.

No, they took off from a different location in the morning - and I was late arriving in the evening and had to chase them....which was fun, but without knowing the area - made it difficult to get between the balloons and the sun - was great practice tho and I hope to attend the balloon show in Ella Sharp Park - Jackson MI later in July.

Nice! Make sure you post them. We only have a ballon fest once a year here. The rest are to far away to get to.

You need to schedule a ride sometime. It's a hoot! I rode with the oldest licensed balloon pilot in TX about 20 years ago. I'm afraid of heights, so the first 50 ft or so was unenjoyable to say the least, but after that it was amazing. We went up to about 2,000 feet. The only noise you hear is the sound of the gas jets when you want to rise some more. Truly an amazing experience.
