I buy it myself if I didn't already have one. This is one of Nikon's sleeper legendary pieces of glass which never got the recognition it deserved because it was over shadowed by the f2.5 version. An excellent fast small telephoto lens.

The 105 f/1.8 was over-shadowed by the 85 f/1.4 AIS, which was introduced about the same time and with which it could not compete in the pro market. The 85 is not only faster, it’s as sharp or sharper, especially wide open. It also has CRC (Close Range Correction - floating elements) and performs noticeably better close up.
That said, the 105 f/1.8 AIS is among the best lenses in its class and belongs in any Nikon collection, especially in like new condition. Your price is reasonable, I’d buy it in a heartbeat if I didn’t already have a 90 f/2.0 Summicron-R and a 90 f/2.8 Ellmarit-R. (I’m hoping you sell it quick, else I just may shoot you a PM!)
