Someone told me about this, so I tried it. When you begin typing a search in Google, it guesses what words will come next, based on searches by other people. Here is what people have Googled about the moon.

I suppose that shouldn't surprise me. I follow NASA's Facebook site and some of the responses are truly amazing. Examples are "moon landing was fake", flat earth believers, etc.
Did no one ask if the moon was made of green cheese?
It does not surprise me that people thought that the moon landing was faked. There were many of the older folks who just could not believe that we could do this. I heard people says things like that. It is rather phenomenal at that.

It's not the older folks who doubt, I'm 72 and my generation built the space program and many watched it progress daily on TV over the years. Many of the non believers are from the younger less educated crowd!

I wondered the same thing.

I never understood that one, I mean, the moon is not green!? Why couldn't it be made of some sort of Swiss cheese or Nordic cheese. It's definitely too old for American cheese.

Lack of education or just plain bad education knows no generational bounds.

Probably the same group that states the 9/11/01 was not a terrorist attack but a government initiated explosion to justify actions against terrorists overseas. In that case, I suppose the news video of the plane striking the second World Trade Center building was a fake video. In the case of the moon landings, they claim it was video done in a secret warehouse.
Not even limited to that. I know folks who build aircraft for a living; Engineers who think that the earth is flat and no amount of reasoning will change their mind.
It's definitely not a lack of education or information as is the case in a LOT of what we believe and why we believe it.

Now that's just silly, especially if it isn't even real.

So, the moon landing that I watched back in'69 was faked?
In those days I had a darkroom and did my own developing (only B&W mind you, couldn't afford colour chemicals and the enlarger)
With today's computers and software it would be a simple job. Heck, look at the CGI movies and video games.
In 1969 I would imagine that to do a fake would cost a lot more than the original mission.
But there are many people out there that will believe any conspiracy theory. Hey, if it's on the internet, it must be true.....
