Keep in mind that I have not used any of these, and I will not take responsibility if it doesn't work, or worse, breaks the pin:

I wonder if jeweller's needle nose pliers would be usuable?

Or what about a metal, empty, ballpoint refill - making sure there is no ink left in the tube. Of course, if the pin is inside camera and the pin is now horizontal instead of vertical, you might not be able to get the end of that tube on the pin.

If the pin is horizontal, and you can get a very thin wire from somewhere, you might be able to loop that around the pin and very gently pull it up, at least partway, so that you can put a tube on the end.

I would actually take the camera (if that's where the bent pin is) to a camera shop and let them do it.
If it is in a card reader, I'd buy a new one - card-readers are very inexpensive these days.

Thanks for your advise, I got them mostly straight, but when I try to imput the compact flash card, it will not seat, it is a Nikon D2X camera, I think the whole connector has to be replaced, as I see 3 pins are missing, but I was going to try and see if would record photos with them missing. is there any place that can replace the it with a new connector, I may just return camera if its too expensive to replace. Thank you all for your comments. Dave

Hi All, well I finally tried another card and I got it inserted, but when I try to shoot a pic, the shutter will not go off, so it has something to do with the missing pins, as when I try to read card after pressing viewer button , it say this card can't be used, so it needs a new connector.
Thanks All

That is one of the major issues with CF. I viewed the CF card as one of the big weaknesses of the Digital Rebel I had a one time. I am very happy to use SD now; the supposed difference in transfer speed is something that doesn't affect me - even the one day I shot over fifty pictures {a lot for me}, transfer time was no big deal.

That's because the fastest modern SD card is well over 50x faster than when they first came out. Back then, it made a big difference because the SD maxed out at 12.5 MByte/s and if you had a 5 megapixel camera (oooh!) that meant at least 1.2 seconds to write the image in RAW mode.

If you really have to get them straight, bring it to a repair shop and pay the price. There are so many tiny pins so close together that getting all of them aligned correctly could be very difficult. If you do get them right, keep the card in place and use a USB cable.

Use a large syringe needle. Get one that is large enough inside diameter that will fit over the bent pin. Ive done it in the past and it works perfectly.

Thanks Guys, I got the pins straight and the card does insert, but there are 3 pins missing hence the camera doesn't recognize the card, connector needs to be replaced, I live near Las Vegas, anyone know of a good place to take it near there
