Three mallards

It was noon when I went to this brook; the mallards were snugged in the shade and it was a few moments before I noticed them since I was concentrating on the reeds. They cooperated by staying snugged.

Wow, they really blend in. Had to go to download and then really look to find them. Of course, once I knew they were there, it was easier to spot them. Camouflage is sometimes quite amazing.

I had to really hunt. But as stated above, once found, they're easy to see. That's a really neat image.

OK, Matt, I was about to give up but thought if others could find them I ought to be able to. Neat shot and I enjoyed it one I spotted the Mallards!

Thanks Erich. It was a magical moment. I went back this morning after torrential rains last night and will post another later. Matt

Thank you. They were easier to spot while there. They were pretty dozy and didn't stir even with me moving around. Matt

Thanks. It was a magic moment, and somewhat special and almost private to be there alone with them. Matt

Yep, took a while to find the little blighters! They are rather incidental to the shot - but maybe that's not a bad thing as its all about habitat?

Matt if you didn't mention about the three ducks I probably would have missed them. That being said objective shot. B/W works well with this shot.

They were hiding and I wanted to respect that. Thanks for the comment. Matt
