Hi - I learned "real" photography from my late husband, a Nikon enthusiast. I'll introduce myself when I'm feeling more like typing.
But just to start somewhere, here is a random selection of a few of my better attempts. I use a Nikon D750, with a few different lenses, but my favourites are my Nikkor 105mm prime lens, and 28-300 zoom. I started with a D80 6 years ago, moved up to a D300 2 years later, then to the D750 2 years ago. I'm not happy with the cropping/editing on a couple of them, but I didn't know better at the time.

Wow. What a fabulous welcome from y'all! (Sorry - I married an Alabama gentleman farmer and retired attorney, and lived in central Alabama for a couple of years, but primarily in Atlanta. I am, however (also a retired attorney), a native Bostonian, recently transplanted to SWFL, just below the frostline so that I can grow my orchids outside year-round. I'm hoping to live my dream of relocating to the largely undeveloped west coast of Puerto Rico, to grow my orchids there among warm and friendly people, teach English to the children who otherwise might never learn it, lower my blood pressure, swim in the calm sea, stare at the sky, photograph everyone and everything around me, and spend the rest of my life in usefulness to other and at peace with the universe. I fully realize that I should place this in my intro post or profile - and I will.
Thank you, UHH members, for your kind words and interest!
Terrific set of images. Welcome to the UHH site. It is a lot of fun to share images and see input from others.

I can't look at no.3 without wondering what it would look like in natural light (assuming you've done something with it). Nice shots though, very enjoyable.
Hi John, and thank you. In point of fact, that third photo - of the clouds - was taken with only the usual polarising filter and the only editing I did was slightly cropping and raising the exposure a tad. In fact, I was headed back to my car after shooting the sunset from Manasota Key when I noticed that amazing cloud formation. I'd already put my tripod in the car, so I had to hand-hold the camera, steadying myself on the roof of the car. The composition has something to be desired, but it was very nearly a true "shot-in-the-dark", so I was surprised to find that it came out so accurately. Sometimes nature exceeds our greatest imaginings, don't you think?

You have nothing to apologize for, the very minor "flaw" of not cropping out those leaves at the top can be easily fixed. Very lovely photos. looking forward to more.
