I went looking to take photos of rocks and ripples but found this instead. C&c welcome. Matt

Thank you Frank. That's the critique I need. I will be more alert to that now. Best. Matt

Hi Matt. Looks like you got a good one going here. I like what Frank did. Might I suggest going a step farther. I don't think that bridge/walkway with the railing is doing your composition any favors. I see the mail focus being those tall stems and the reflection of them in the water. That being the case, the railing is a bit of a distraction.

Thanks, Erich. I went back and forth on including/excluding the bridge and decided to keep it in for the sake of a straight horizon line as well as my inability to keep the 8/11 crop otherwise. I will try a square crop and see what it looks like. Your comments are always welcome and helpful. Thank you. Matt

Matt I like like shot. I do agree with Frank on toning down the highlights. But the railing for me doesn't bother me. But the good news we are no longer constrained by standard paper size anymore. So squaring off the shot can change the composition completely. It may turn out that you like it better than the original shot.

Thank you Frank. I reworked it and will post it tomorrow. I appreciate your comment. Matt

Hi, Matt,
The blown highlights have been mentioned, but beyond that, I find the image to be incredibly "busy"...and am driven to find one of the "images within the image"

Here's one example, focusing mainly on one sort of grassy plant and its reflections.

?..just another guy's approach....

I agree Dave. Here's my latest version effort. Matt.
