I believe the silver one is a J2X. Maybe just a J2. Very low production but very successful on the track and won the Monte Carlo Rally. Great cars. Fantastic pictures.

Very nice. Allards had that distinctive grill.

Thank you very much Jerry.

I would like to see the silver one pass me at night on a country road just to see all those lights. Beautiful cars and very nice shots. I do remember Allards back in 1951 when I was trying to decide to be a newspaper reporter or not.

Thank you very much, I wonder if they still can be driven today with the smog restrictions?

Allards were pretty competitive on the race track back then too. I recall they had big, powerful Cadillac engines. Photos often showed them racing with the Jaguars and Porsches of the day.

Great job on the photos. The Allards were powered by a number of different engines based upon the client's pleasure or the depth of his pockets. I think that most did receive OHV Cadillac v-8 engines, but some were powered by Flathead Ford V-8's and I believe that a few may have been built with the Olds Rocket V-8 of the day.

Sidney Allard also built a sedan - the P2. never sold well. allard Cars is still making the J2 and J2X. expensive.

I agree, not like today's cars, they have no character.

Wow! Those are really cool cars! My husband just said that the silver one looks like something from the movie, "The Great Race".

I've never heard of an Allard but they certainly are designed to be noticed. I certainly wouldn't refuse one if offered to me. Their "noses" are so long, not sure I could steer it around a corner! Handsome shots, Mike!

Saw these are the car show "Allard" named after a fellow hugger with the same namesake. Dennis, ever seen the second one?
