I bought this printer a couple weeks ago on Craiglist. It was working when I picked it up and not working when I got it home.
It's offering me an error that indicates a paper jam, which is DOES NOT HAVE. So I've been around the horn with this issue.
My question is, does anyone here know a non-obvious source to replace this printer with the same model (so I can use the ink I bought)? Used is fine.
Thanks UHH!
Thanks for your response.
I would love to try a roller cleaning, but the jam error blocks me from doing so.
You're welcome. Have you tried? Roller cleaning should bypass the paper jam error. Worked for me.
Yeah, I have tried. I also called Canon support and went through their protocol.
I've given up on the printer. I'm hoping to find a good reliable source to get another one used.
I had an HP printer once that kept giving me that same error message. I took it to the geek squad at Best Buy. One of their guys spent about an hour on it and found a piece of dust on one of the rollers. When he cleaned that off, it worked. Years later I got the same message, and this time I opted to get rid of the printer. I guess my question is why did it stop working while in transit. (What you describe is why I don't buy off Craigslist. Hope you didn't spend too much on it.)
I got the printer dirt cheap. And off-brand ink.
Now I wonder if blowing air into the printer might fix it.
I'll give that a try before I donate it.
Press down on the lid that covers the ink area. I had one that I'm thinking the lid sensor was not working correctly and gave me some kind of error like that. But if I put a book or something to put some weight on that lid it started working fine.
Does the jam error occur with all paper types? My 9000 Mk II has a problem feeding glossy (Canon Pro Platinum), but does fine with semi-gloss and matte papers. For glossy paper I sometimes have to put hand pressure on the paper as it is feeding to help it past the first set of rollers. Hope this helps.
