Then let them go. To your logic, if no one now buys their music then who wins? The bands have been fighting to stop music from being stolen on the internet as they should but it seems all too often the rights of others are being eradicated one by one. I'll bet there are plenty of new good bands that would jump at the chance to preform in the park for free without such big heads.

RRS, I understand your view point. We have outside parties, sometimes with major touring bands. I have been to a few and no one stopped me from taking photos. I own a Canon Mark IV which just by its size says professional camera.
I also think that since it is in a public place and thus supported by taxpayer dollars, the band should be VERY strongly encouraged to allow photos. I doubt they play for free. I know in some instances, the band's were sponsored by radio stations and others.
I just meant that until a court decision or council changes the policy then it should be "lightly" enforced. Not sure what that may be, I need further thought on it.
Personallly unless there becomes a security issue, as long as they are held on taxpayers property.

Thanks, I'm a taxpayer and they're still going up. At a private venue it would depend on how bad I wanted to see/hear the group and I would have to play by their rules. If the band was visible in the park I have almost 2000mm at my disposal and I guess I could still get some shots from somewhere in the park. I'm lucky that I can still hear, I spent a lot of time in the 60's up close with ASA 400 Tri X B&W and a Nikon and the speakers blew through my hair like the wind. Come to think of it, I don't have too much hair left today but it sure was fun!
