I have been asked to take pictures at a family reunion. Group pictures and portrait. I shoot a D7200. I have a Nikon 35mm 1.8, kit 18-55, and a Tamron 16-300. I don't believe my Tokina 11-16 nor my Sigma 100-400 come into play. I don't normally shoot people. Is there a lens i should rent?

The People Photography section is a good place to ask questions about people photography.

80mm is a good focal length for portraiture.

I have dozens of family group shots from when I was a kid. They were all taken with basic Kodak cameras. You have a good camera and three good lenses. If you can't get a good shot with all that gear, hire a pro.

Right! And at only $1,749, it's a bargain! I bet that would take a nice picture of the family.

Don't spend, don't rent.

Use what you have.

Your lenses are fine. Be more concerned about the lighting.

If it's an outdoor event, your 16-300 should be all you need. If it's indoor, get a decent flash and use whatever lens you feel is appropriate for the scene. You don't need any new lenses IMO.
