Very simple. Have a close and trusted female friend present at the session. Let the subject know ahead of time. If she objects, tell her that it is not a negotiable point. You need your "assistant" there for various tasks. If she bails as a result, fine. The choice was hers. You were thinking of turning it down anyway. Additionally, you come out of this with your character and reputation intact.

VERY good advice.

I have a question for all of you. I have an acquaintance that has contacted me about doing a Boudoir shoot. She wants the photos to surprise her boyfriend with. I have done this kind of photography before, but with trusted close friends. However this is someone that I have not known for long. My question is, in this day and age of law suites and untrue accusations, how can I protect myself against any problems. She has requested that there not be anyone else at the session. I am tempted to turn down the session, but at the same time, I don't want to offend her.

Would she object to an other woman being present? A friend of yours perhaps who would act as sort of a chaperon. Otherwise, I would so no. Many doctors are concerned for the same reasons and insist on having a female nurse or assistant in the room during examinations.

Demand that a chaperone be present; preferably a female in whom you have the utmost trust. Be sure she signs a statement that this is done at her request and specifies the disposition of all the images taken.

Set a GoPro camera on a table next to the shoot and set it to record when it senses motion.

Trust your gut. You obviously have uncomfortable feelings about it. Have an assistant to tuck fabric, smooth hair, etc. and let her know it's not an option to shoot alone.

I'll answer for him: NO, he does not.

What a foul comment in a photography forum, and one which demonstrates both the need to be extremely careful, professional and cautious. While, personally, I won't do this kind of work for many reasons, if I was to, I would be sure to have a same sex as the subject observer in the room at all times, and one I trusted implicitly.

Vulgar comments are common from those who are immature, not from adults. DISGUSTING!

Exactly the reason why I responded the way I did. As a female, I was insulted by this question!
And please, everybody: Let it stop right here and now! No need to allow an insult to take over what I found a rather interesting conversation.

I agree with everyone who says bring a trusted female friend, if the woman objects then that's the end of it.
