Changing File Names

I need some help!
I upgraded our Mac OS to the new Sierra ver.10.12.6,which runs Photos 2.0
I download my files to the computer from my camera, and they have file names of "DSC_....", in sequential order.
When I go to attach them to letters on my gmail account, the newly downloaded files come up with the weirdest file names
"fullsizeoutput_...." with a combo for digits and letters instead of a sequential numbering system.
What can I do so that the file names stay the same.
I attached some shots from this week-end.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if it's possible to keep the original file name. Facebook renames the photos on upload,
something like: 20604190_10209844731061361_2487652321744288753_n.jpg

Does gmail do the same thing, rename on attaching?
If so, you have no control over the name.

Thanks
The confusing thing is that some do not get renamed

It's odd that they would do some, but not all.

You may not want to use this alternative but I have noticed that when I "share" a photo via OneDrive it maintains the name, the EXIF, etc. It also puts less strain on the recipient's system if they view the thumbnails first and decide whether to view full size or even to download. Just be sure to make the link that you send read-only (un-check able to edit). You can also set an expiration date.

I don't mean to be picky about the exact words, but "gmail account" suggests an email. If you have a gmail account you also have Google Drive which likely does the same as OneDrive with regard to this issue.

Oh, btw, very nice shots!

I use several e-mail systems and none of them rename files.
