Has anybody had any dealings with "Opteka?"
Yes - I like their camera strap system.
I've used several of their products; however, I am most fond of their wrist straps, which I use extensively. All have seemed to be of very high quality; their pricing is quite good, as well.

Opteka is a marketing company, they "make" nothing at all. They simply sell re-branded products at a higher price than the original.

Yes, but every one does that, and many like Opteka set specifications on the "made in china" [every thing almost!] Reselling and branding and marketing is as Mr Trump would say is the American way.
I investigated 10X screw-on lenses. The popular one, spend more get more foolish UHH philosophy, ignore specs too often. Opteka actually screws on vs clamp on and Opteka has more elements ... necessary for preventing or reducing the problem of color fringing [chromatic aberration].
I am very satisfied with my Opteka purchase.
I believe the 500 mm mirror lens that Opteka sells is made by Samyang (or the same factory makes them both). Possibly other lenses also.
I have a number of Opteka products, and all have been very satisfactory. The most notable, a pistol-grip tripod head which was the most economical of its type and has served me well for two years now and going strong. The only fault was the instructions that failed to note the camera plate can only go on in one orientation or the locking lever will fail. This resulted in many low ratings from those who kept forcing the lever until it failed. In my experience, if it has the Opteka name it works.
I have a Opteka TacShot Pistol Grip that I like very well and it works well. It works well as a tripod "head" and on top of a monopod too. It's well built and a great value from Amazon.

I have bought Opteka lenses: prime, full-size, 85mm F/1.8 with hood (totally manual) good for portraits and other still shots for my crop Canon T1i/500d, cost $99.95 total; Opteka monopod for less than $20.00. It is a South Korean outfit that handles various products such as Vivitar, Falcon, Rokinon, Wilimax, Bower, Bell & Howell, Polar and Pro Optic. I am well satisfied with the Opteka lens and monopod, at a low price compared with other popular brands.
I also have bought Yongnuo lenses from a China company which I deem among the best -- 35mm f/2 $80; 100mm f/2 $170; 50mm f/1.8 $56.99 (Canon clone) all full size lenses. These products goes well with my Canon T1i (1.6 crop).
All these lenses are really good in low light, indoor etc. I hope this information helps you in making a buying decision - I said to myself, "What do you have to loose!" Really good glass! I recommend these products.
Thank you so much for the information.
I have used a few of their items. As good as most.
Bought an Optika carbon fiber tripod some years back. Still going strong.
