I will be there next month. I've seem some photos posted on this website that look stunning. Any advice on touring the area, best scenic areas, wildlife spotting, etc. would be appreciated. I have my Nikon 10-24 wide angle, and 300 telephone DX ready to go! Thanks!

Snake River Overlook. Schwabacher Landing. Mormon Row. Jenny Lake Overlook. Cascade Canyon and Inspiration Point. Oxbow Bend. Blacktail Ponds Overlook. Signal Mountain.
You love the area, you will usually see Moose, Beaver, and occasionally a bear around Schwabacher Landing. I spent a week taking a photography class from Matt Suess, in these areas. Enjoy your trip and safe travels.

I don't know where you live but your question is similar to the one about New York City and people photography. That area of the country is so beautiful that all you need to do is "look around". There is beauty everywhere. I mean real beauty. Have fun! If you can, drive on Beartooth highway. Stunning views!

Google it and you will see. It's one of the five best scenic drives in the states. Not a long drive in miles (around 70) but it will take you 3-4 hours. The landscapes are breathtaking. Don't miss it!

Another beauty for me was driving through WIND RIVER CANYON in Wyoming. Not sure why, but it was my most amazing drive ever.

Also go to the Chapel of Transfiguration in Moose for some good photo opps. https://www.jacksonholewy.net/park_highlights/chapel_of_the_transfiguration.php The Phelps Lake hike is pretty easy and the lake has a lot of photo opps, as does Taggert Lake. Remember to take bear spray anytime you are out hiking in the area in the Tetons or Yellowstone.

Having worked at the Colter Bay Marina for several seasons, may I suggest you take the scenic boat tour on Jackson Lake. It will give you a wonderful perspective of the Tetons and even the south rim of Yellowstone. Enjoy

I have always been partial to the travertine terraces at Mammoth Hot Springs (north entrance to park). These are best either at sunrise or better after the sun goes behind the hills just to their west. Subtle colors, steam and flowing water all in one. A large area with several boardwalks.

Amen to all of those mentioned, particularly Signal Mountain, where you can make good use of your wide-angle lens at all times of the day and night. For wildlife, shorelines of lakes and rivers are great to explore.

What great responses I am getting. I have booked 3 nights at Canyon Village and 2 nights at the Lake Hotel in YNP. At Grand Teton, we are staying at Colter Bay for 3 nights and finishing up in Jackson for 1 night. Looking forward to some great landscape shooting. By the way, has anyone used a silicone protection cover for their camera? Thinking of getting one.

You MUST go to Artist Point (not to mention Upper and Lower Falls)
I walked the relatively short trail along Uncle Tom's Trail
(you CAN walk down to the falls from there - - but there are like 300 steps down - which can be a challenge coming back up)
http://www.hikespeak.com/trails/uncle-toms-trail-lower-falls-yellowstone/
Or - - you can just drive the rest of the way to the tourista parking area, where it's a very short walk to the vista
I've posted MY favorite photo from Artist Point (begging forgiveness, of course)
