Kittens, kittens, kittens, dog

I was fortunate to get to spend a couple of hours at a local animal shelter photographing the kittens that are available for adoption. Overall I am quite pleased with my first attempt.
I brought a simple studio set up for backdrop and my patient husband as an assistant!!
The white background was not my favorite, but I brought it for the darker kittens.
Would love to get some feedback and suggestions.
Nikon D5300 with Nikon 18-140mm
Speedlight and diffuser.
Obviously best on download.
The last shot is of my dog that was adopted from this facility.

I volunteered at a local no kill shelter for 8 years helping with the kittens and cats...
these are fantastic shots and I hope all these cuties find their fur-ever home very fast!!!

Well done! You seem able to capture their personalities, especially excellent focus on the eyes with the catch light. You are going to really effect people's emotions to bring these home.

Beautiful shots, Jbederka! #3 reminds me soooo much of a cat we had..named her Misty. That was a very long time ago.
