I am a newbee here but not to photography so please excuse my lack of acronym knowledge. What are the acronyms OP and PP used for here? Thanks.

OP=Original Poster, replies to threads often get far a stray, so a reference to the OP helps to bring them back a little

PP=Post Processing, editing photographs

GAS = Gear Acquisition Syndrome. The urge to go out and buy the new kid on the block, especially when there is nothing wrong with what you already have.

A few not covered yet.
FX / DX - Full Frame / Crop Sensor. Full Frame can also appear as FF.
ACR - if you use PS - Photoshop, is Adobe Camera RAW, Adobe's RAW file processor.
BIF - Birds In Flight
BBF - Back Button Focus

RTFM= read the.... "fine" ....manual.
MFT or M4/3= micro four thirds format smaller sensor than DX/APS-C- Made by Olympus and Panasonic.

Nikon seems to have their own language.

FX / DX are Nikon-speak; everyone else uses FF

VR is Nikon-speak for "Vibration Reduction";
everyone else uses IS for "Image Stabilization"

When the IS is provided by the body, as in the case of the Pentaxes I use, it is often abbreviated as IBIS
