The world is full of unusual creatures and you definite found a winner with this series! Very well done shots.

Thanks Carol. Yes they are unusual creatures especially when they fly. Thats the reason they call them helicopter damsels. It is the strangest thing to see. Check this out on <a href="http://www.arkive.org/helicopter-damselfly/megaloprepus-caerulatus-/video-00.html#src=portletV3web" title="Arkive video - Helicopter damselfly - overview" ><img src="http://cdn1.arkive.org/media/7F/7F4009A3-0AE7-4134-BCC8-1FBFC6A100D1/Presentation.Portlet/Helicopter-damselfly---overview.jpg" alt="Arkive video - Helicopter damselfly - overview" title="Arkive video - Helicopter damselfly - overview" border="0"/></a> Arkive

Fascinating information and cool shots, Doc. You must have felt like you were in heaven

Well Linda in the area where you find these it was so beautiful and so many new and wonderful things to observe and photograph I did feel like I was in Heaven. However, I have never been in a hotter or more humid place in my life. I didn't know I could sweat that much! 96-100% humidity all the time. Thanks for commenting. It always means a lot to me.

An adventure it was my friend! So many new and wonderful things to see and photograph. I know I only scratched the surface but I observed and learned so much. I'm glad you enjoyed them they are just amazing. If you'd like to see them fly Angela, check out this short clip.

You don't always find what you are looking for even when you find the perfect habitat for the species so I try not to get my hopes up too high when hunting. This time I was rewarded.
