1964 was the golden era for me in the Golden State. I was up and down the west coast hippieing and surfing it up. The surf was uncrowded for a time, more hippieing was going on than surfing. Then smoking reefer and getting in a tube caught on and the surf was crowded again.
You should look into the shameful treatment of indigenous people everywhere when the Jesus and gun people showed up.

It probably is very racist but is so ingrained in our culture it has become convenient shorthand for Good Guy, Bad Guy. That is a good cause that could be taken up by MAGA people to distract from the really dodgy stuff. Trump should have trotted that one out for the Boy Scouts
