I took these over the weekend. This time I added a little xanthan gum, milk, and food coloring to the water.

We need to know about settings and such. Super thanks for the post; I wonder how many views they will end up with?

Donnie, these are absolutely super. The "superest" of the three is the first one. That drop just above that tilted plateau of splash is incredible.

Thank you very much Mr. OutBack! First of all, I used the Pluto Trigger, which controls everything: the timing of the first and second drops, the flash and the camera shutter. I believe I used .8 sec shutter speed, f/13 and ISO 100. By the way, I'm 72, and just been into photography about 3 years. Did my first water drops last month.

Thanks very much northsidejoe! Check my reply to OutBack. This is very difficult to describe all the details, but my camera is set up at a fairly low angle on one side of the catch bowl, which I keep completely full. The flash is on the opposite side of the bowl. I need a softbox to reduce the glare, but since I don't have one yet, I used a handkerchief. Flash location can be changed to get different effects. Once you get the settings close, take lots of shots and very the timing and size of the drops very slightly and only one at a time to get much different effects. Hope this helps.
