I'm very pleased you enjoyed the thistle pics. Every year I enter a few photos into the North Idaho State Fair competition. There are separate categories color and B&W. I occasionally flip pictures to B&W just to see what they look like. So far I prefer the color version.

Hi sailersmom,
I really like seeing other photographers work, and especially competing with them. I always hope to win, because I am competing with some exceptionally skilled photographers.
I truly miss the weekly UHH photo contest. The wide range of subjects always stimulated my photography range, creativity, and I just loved the competition.

I'm pleased you like the B&W with the purple top. Sometimes I enjoy fiddling around with pictures just for my amusement. Attached is a picture of my little girlfriend next door that turned out fairly well.
