I don't know if these are for shade of the main music stage, or just for color, but they caught my eye.

Thanks Don. I didn't get to see them put these up, but I'll bet that would be a nice set to capture.

The "kites" may have some acoustic properties. /Ralph

I hadn't thought of that. They sure don't offer any protection from the rain.

If they are made from hard nylon, they will plus offer a little sound reflection. Other than that a tiny bit o shade. Had them in my backyard in CA... looked pretty but not much else...
I'm a kite person so...

Art! A local guy has something similar, but larger, setup by the road.

Hi Don. I believe that they are ripstop nylon. I like kites too. I haven't flown them for several years though. I did build a steerable kite and liked flying it on the beach. There used to be a kite shop on the beach in Daytona and I saw someone testing a large kite on a particularly windy day and it actually drug him down the beach. He was digging in his heels, but he was still being drug.

Spyder... yup. Love kites and have not pioleted mine in two years. I have a 6' parasail I love. Has a 40' tail, my other is also. 6' but a diamond. The parasail will take my Canon camera up for great shots. Many are blurry of course. Ecause of the movement. But some come out looking awesome.
Going to build a big box kite as they are said to me more stable. Perhaps I'll get better photos...

I sure can see why they would've caught your eye, SpyderJan! Neat, colorful shot!

I have never flown a box Don. I never thought of using a kite as a camera platform. Very interesting. Of course now that I have a quadcopter, I will likely never try that. How did you mount the camera?
