Whether the Cypress Knees are there to provide oxygen or anchor the roots of the tree in the soft mud of the swamps it is still a phenomenal sight in the South Florida Swamps. It is said that if the knees are cut down it does nothing to the tree and the knees continue to grow. I love sitting on the edge of the swamp to take it all in.
Enjoyed your photo! Those cypress knees are calling me to the swamp, but I'm afraid all the cypress knees in this area are deep under water right now. Thanks for sharing.
