Just something I have fun with...non-scientific lens comparisons..... This fun comparison is with a Minolta Rokkor PF 58mm F 1.4 at F 1.4 and F 5.6. The Nikon lens is a modern AF-S Nikkor 50mm 1.8G at F 1.8 and F 5.6
- the 1st two images are the Minolta 58mm: #1 at F 1.4 ... #2 at F 5.6
- the 3rd and 4th images are the Nikkor 50mm: #3 at F 1.8 and then #4 at F 5.6
These are straight out of camera (SOOC) other that downsizing for web use... Using a Nikon D7000 at ISO 100 with a FOTODIOX PRO adapter for the Minolta lenses.
Ciao!
Nikon makes a modern 58mm 1.4.
Comparisons are fun to do, but there can be lots of variables.
