Who knew?

I found this Black Swallowtail caterpillar in my parsley plant. Upon close (macro close) examination, I saw that when it felt threatened, it reared up and a "horn" extruded from it's head making it look larger and scary. This "horn" completely recedes into its head when not threatened.

Download highly recommended.

These were shot with a Nikon D3500, Tamron 90mm and a 20mm extension with a speedlight and softbox.

Not feeling threatened.
