Gotta know which Nikon for starters.
They come out with several every year.

There is a rough...really rough estimate on this website

Also need to know settings for image quality; small, medium, large image, RAW + image, etc.

Why are you storing photos on a memory card?

Wow I am snowed on that.

Nikon d3000 All sorts of types of shots. ..
jpg files no raws
I know nothing of cameras.

I just keep photoson the card as a dumb habit. When I go somewhere an the ask of some of the photos.I have them to show off.
Also take it to the Walmart to make prints at times.

I had no idea sizes an shots made a difference.
But thanks all

As you can see, there are a lot of variables.
If your card is empty now, put it in the camera at the current setting you use and it will tell you roughly how many it will hold. 750 sounds reasonable for that camera.

Memory cards do fail, so you want to make sure you are saving them to at least one other place...two is better.

Quality prints are the best way to save snapshots.
No computer or batteries needed, no software to upgrade...except maybe a new eyeglass prescription.

It's almost like asking how much does a shopping cart hold. Most cameras show how much space is left for the type of file used for the previous shot.

Harkens back to the days of film, when you had to change after 10, 12, 24 or 36 exposures. (not to mention sheet film) Made you shoot more carefully.
