Hi--this bloom looks very much like the blooms on the pohutakawa tree in New Zealand. They bloom during the NZ summer--December, and are fondly called NZ Christmas trees.

Calliandra species - - by the looks of the sepals (red) it could be Calliandra californica, but don't rule the Calliandra eriophyla out. The common name is Fairyduster, and very common in the desert SW and Mexico

Hi Skrn214,and Stelart,
the biggest thanks for your reply, it may be bloom from metrosideros family, and Pohutakawa tree is main member.
It look that Stelart is probably closer with Calliandra species, identification
It will take me some more searching to make proper identification, as there are more variations available but guys without your reply I wouldn't never find it .
I think it is Calliandra emarginata, while i was comparing leafs
This picture was taken last month in Niagara Falls(Ontario)Botanical Gardens,
Because it was blossoming it my not be New Zealand Tree as they bloom around Christmas time
Thanks again

I've been around the world - saw a freak show in Oklahoma, and been to two county fairs, but I ain't never encountered a "thilel" so I wouldn't know if they're blue or not . . . .and what on earth do they do?

this is called "Powderpuff" or Calliandra haematocephala. I have photographed it in Vero Beach Florida. this is taken from a book on tropical flowers: each bloom is actually many small flowers with inconspicuous almost invisible petals. the showy part consists of hundreds of long pollentipped stamens. the male flower-parts. the species Latin name literally means "blood0red head" Powderpuffs are native to tropics of the Americas

Don't know it's name, but your depth of field is perfect. And because of it's bright color, the background adds drama. Great picture.
