Happened upon this scene and thought I have to capture this....now what?
Here's what I got with an 11 sec exposure and little highlight decrease, slight shadow increase, a little sharpening and no crop.
I think I got lucky.

What was your purpose, and what did it look like at faster shutter and larger fstops , or you should have taken a couple in auto or P ,
and explane the lucky tag ??

I wanted to capture the apparent nothingness at the end of the pier.
There was no discerning where the water ended and air began.
I knew if I used a long exposure I could smooth out the water in the foreground so its texture would be more like the fog.
Lucky because I was in the right spot at the right time and I didn't take but one shot. I liked what I saw on the LCD and walked away which was a mistake in hindsight.

This is a beautiful, unique image! Any post-processing? I suppose you used a tripod.
