I wanted to capture the apparent nothingness at the end of the pier.
There was no discerning where the water ended and air began.
I knew if I used a long exposure I could smooth out the water in the foreground so its texture would be more like the fog.
Lucky because I was in the right spot at the right time and I didn't take but one shot. I liked what I saw on the LCD and walked away which was a mistake in hindsight.
