Very nice image. I am still trying to get a Bald Eagle shot. We don't have many in Louisiana, so it may have to wait for a trip to somewhere else.

Thanks all for your comments. I was thrilled to get this. Someone suggested lightening it up a bit. Good suggestion, how does this look?
To me this version is better. Can really appreciate the detail on the eagle's body. But, of course, I am biased because I was the one who suggested you try lightening it up.
It was a good suggestion, thanks.

This was the first eagle shot I got that I liked. What do you think?
More than OK, very nice one.
Good shot, I live in the Hudson Vally area of New York state, we have a few pairs of nesting Eagles that I have tried to photograph from my kayak over the last few years. I try not to get to close and have watched an eagle sit on his perch for over an hour, no soon as I would put the camera down to take a break, he would fly off in a direction away from me. I did get a few shots but was not happy with the 55-300 pentax so I went and picked up a Sigma 120-400 and searched for an area that would give me a better chance of the shot that I wanted, three years after my first eagle shot and a $1200 lense I got the photo that I wanted.

Very nice shot. I think that adjusting your exposure to lighten it up a bit, make a big difference.
Thanks for the replies. This shot was taken with a 55-200 nikor lens. Would love a longer lens but all I can afford at the moment. I have been hunting that bird for 2 years!

Nice that you got a clear shot of the entire bird.

The lightening definitely is an improvement. Very nice shot. Mahalo for sharing.
Very nice, and lightening it does help.
