Like you I was mesmerized looking at Mt. Rushmore. How anybody could envision making something like that out of a mountain is mind boggling for sure. We also went to Crazy Horse but this was probably 15 or 20 years ago and that will be impressive also but there just wasn't enough to see when we were there. Really enjoyed your pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice series, must have been an enjoyable tour. Took my family there years ago when our children were sub-to-young-teens. Do they still do the ceremony at nightfall, when they turn off all lights, braodcast patriotic music, and at the crescendo, they flood the monument in light? That was one of the most moving experiences ever for me, including all my years in military uniform. I can hear and see that event in my mind to this day!

What were the roads like since I see snow and ice in all your photos? Your pictures are nice by the way.

Crazy Horse is still unfinished so we passed on it. Glad you enjoyed the pics.

We weren't aware of a ceremony at nightfall. Sounds like a grand celebration of our most cherished national monument. Glad you were able to enjoy it.
