Hi, I am new to the site and live just outside of Philadelphia. I spend most of my day teaching U.S. History to high school students and the rest of the day shooting pictures.
Welcome. You have the best job in the world. If I started over I would want to be a history teacher. I live about 2 1/2 hours north in Orange County, NY.

Welcome, and enjoy the company. I previously lived in Philly and Bucks, now for some reason I've moved fron Pennsylvania, the Keystone State, to Illinois, the Bankrupt State. I, once, a very long time ago, also taught Social Studies and Science. I don't think I'd enjoy teaching in today's climate. Sorry, I digress...you'll find UHH a daily habit.
Once a month, the Philadelphia Photographic Society meets (third Tuesday each month) in Center City Philadelphia.
Here is a link to their website
http://www.phillyphotosociety.com/About.htmlAll levels of photographers are welcome, and it is a great place to meet and interact with other photographers. (Yes, newbies are most welcome)
Hi ,and welcome to the forum....hope you enjoy yourself here.
Welcome to the Forum. BTW in addition to Photography, I love history, as I tell folks all the time if you do not know history you are doomed to repeat it... Of course living in NH it is US History and our native history that I love the most... Look forward to seeing your work.

Welcome to the forum. You must be a very patient individual to be able to teach in todays environment. That should translate well into your photography.
Welcome from West Chester, PA!
Hi, Bola, my name is Frank from the Wilkes-Barre area of PA. I am a retired teacher, glad to have left the profession, as student discipline had begun to take a nose dive when I left. Enjoy the great people of UHH. Keep in touch, if you want to.

Welcome bcola to the Hog. I too taught high school students, but Special Ed. I absolutely loved the boys I taught and although it was difficult at times I wish I was still teaching. Besides teaching and photography we share a home state. I live between New York, Kingston, and PA, Birdsboro (outside of Reading). I love both areas for their distinct offerings.
Enjoy your time on the forum. You'll find it addicting, very helpful, entertaining, and most of all full of very friendly people willing to answer questions and point you in the right direction whenever in the need.
