searching for a smaller camera I came across the Sony RX1 Rii

I have not seen this camera discussed here previously. At $3300, Full Frame and 42 megapixles, and DXO mark of 97, this camera weighs only 17 oz. and is small overall. Anyone own one - first hand experience, etc. Seems like a good high end camera comparable to the Nikon D810 in a smaller package.

The Sony RX1 R Mark 2 is a fixed lens (wide angle 35mm) camera, and very different from the DSLR (interchangeable lens) Nikon D810. If you want interchangeable lenses it might be worth looking at the Sony A6500. But look closely as all these cameras have very different specs.

My question is for info from someone who has the Sony. I have a full complement of interchangeable cameras (3). I also know the Sony is a fixed lens. Just looking for a small carry camera with large mp sensor and excellent photo quality. Anyone have one?

That's why you don't see it discussed much, it's $3300.00. A medium format camera you can put in your pocket. I don't own one but they are fantastic cameras. Your right, a good alternative to the D810 in a much smaller package. Good luck.

I own the RX 1 II. It takes fantastic photos due to the Zeiss lens. At 42 MP and no stabilization I would recommend using shutter speed in excess of1/60.

I hate to rain on your parade but this camera has no image stabilization and a maximum focal length of 35mm. It's a small 1 lb brick.
