".....a tree that looks at God all day and lifts her leafy arms to pray....."
Nice! I've loved that poem since I was a child.

I wonder if it's still part of the English curriculum today for little kids.
Thanks Bridie.

A lovely photo and a wonderful poem!
It wasn't on the curriculum when I was a kid even. I found it ina big hardcover poetry book on my grandma's bookshelf & memorized it. The literature curriculum today is a joke. My daughters are in a great school district, yet their language arts teacher didn't know who Sylvia Plath was. She showed The Simpsons cartoon version of The Raven, & she continually mispronounced the name of a city where a Jewish concentration camp was held & when one of my daughters finally said , "Umm, Ms. So & So, isn't the city actually- ", and the teacher said, "Who cares? What's the difference?"

Beautiful picture Pierre and a great poem.
Wonderful combination of image and poetry, Pierre. We had to memorize that poem in grammer school. Still brings back pleasant memories.

I doubt it--Kilmer isn't trendy enough for today's classrooms, unfortunately.
Lovely photo and poem...
Thanks, Pierre

Amen to that and an excellent image to reflect on too.
