I am anxious....but probably for naught. Set up and ready to image but clouds - not predicted - seem to be gathering. I will leave things up and covered for tomorrow which is suppose to be clear - fingers crossed.

Does NASA know you have some of their toys?

I am always in awe of the photographs you guys share. The learning curve must be vast. I hope you have luck with the weather soon and can't wait to see.

Is that the new "70" holding up the Orion guide scope?

I like it! Over and Under Galactic Capture Weapon.

We come in Peace, to suck the light out of you...

Darn weather. Maybe it will open up and give you a chance to grab some Photons, Ed?
Good luck and Clear Skies for the voyage!

It is the Stellarvue 70T - I have had it out two prior times and so far so good, widefield at 336mm with .8 reducer/flatner. I am covered up with clouds though. I did get polar aligned about 10:30 and then the clouds just covered everything. Not sure if much will break but I will hang out until 1:00 and either call it a night or hopefully, start imaging.

I was setting up to image Jupiter tonight because of another double moon transit.
When I started I was relatively clear and was hoping to shot a few sets.
When I was finished and balanced, I saw Jupiter for about 20 seconds before clouds sneered at me and moved in.
I was able to shoot the new waxing moon with my Canon stuff but no Jupiter transits for me tonight.
I really do feel your pain.
Jim

It's 1 O'clock and the clouds are not going anywhere soon. So I plan to call it a night. I knew tonight was a stretch according to Clear Sky Chart...however tomorrow is predicted to be clear. We shall see!

Is this new equipment, or a new set-up? When you get new equipment, it causes clouds to form... Quite normal, but frustrating for near by astronomers....

Sorta new - the Stellarvue imaging scope is about 6 weeks old - used a couple times but the rest has been around for several years (the ASI1600MM-C and FilterWheel I got back in Dec so it's kinda new to me) but you are soooooo right, new gear causes massive weather issues - all bad for "up shooting"
