The Houston Zoo, Chapter 1

Having not done so for several years, we recently made a visit to our local Houston zoo. It was during the middle of the day, and several of the animals were taking their siestas. But I still got several good photos that I wanted to post. Only real disappointment was that I was not able to get a decent photo of the gorilla. He was in an area where we could only see him by looking straight down. Posting 8 photos this time. Comments welcome and I hope you enjoy.
#1 Sea lion. Very similar to seals but they have the little ear flaps, which seals do not have.

#2 Kind of difficult to get good photos of these guys because they were in constant motion.

#3 Pretty sure this is a monitor lizard.

#4 Monitor lizard. These were both shot through glass.

#5 Elephant. The blur near the bottom is an OOF fence railing.

Wonderful set, Tom... I haven't been to the zoo in quite a while and I really enjoyed your shots.... I especially love the last, shooting through the glass just added to that face and framed it perfectly!!

I like the sea lion,3 and the last chimp image most. Zoos have great photo opps.

Hi Angela. I'm glad you enjoyed my zoo photos. There will soon be more. I was actually somewhat surprised that the ones shot through glass turned out as good as they did.
