This week I'd like to see some creative shots of some of your favorite historic places. Here's your chance to play travel guide and introduce us to some new places, some of which just might end up on my travel bucket list! To start off, here are some of my favorite pre-Columbian sites in the Southwest.

Katspangle, thank you for hosting this week. So sorry to be late but I had a full week of keeping 4 Grandkids! My entire family went to Amelia Island this spring and learned that we were not only staying across from the largest dune system in FLA, but we were on what used to be American Beach on Amelia, a beach where African Americans could freely go to enjoy the beach during segregation. Our beautiful beach house was right on the beach and right next door to the former clubhouse used during that time where Cab Callaway and Louis Armstrong were among the many greats who used to play there. I could just imagine the amazing music that reverberated in that area.

Katspangle, thank you for hosting this week. So so... (show quote)

I guess I took too much time to get the descriptions on the photos. 1. The historical sign describing "NaNa," the tallest dune system in FLA; 2. The dunes - couldn't do them justice; 3. Historical sign also on the dunes describing history of American Beach; 4. The Front of the historical club; 5. Closeup of back of club; 6. Back of Club; 7. View of club from 3rd story deck of our beach house.
