What To Do With A Cheap Non-Usable Tripod. (This is more for fun than anything else)

Do You have a cheap non usable tripod?

You know THAT one you have in the storage locker, basement, or garage?

Put it to work doing Other Things.....

I am SHURE that the members here can come up with just about anything.

(This is just for fun - So Fire Away).

So funny. I have an old warn out set of legs (Velbon) so I swapped the head onto one with a bad head (Slik) that I tossed out and now I have a "Frankenpod" that I can keep in the trunk, and a set of bare legs! I can at least use the headless tripod for a flash or other light stand. My main tripods and heads are Gitzos!

One of the houses in our area has a tripod sprinkler but I believe it is a commercial unit rather than a 'kluge'.

I've got a worn set of legs too, trouble is they're not on a tripod or remnants of!

I have seen sprinklers made like this. They're reasonably priced, sturdier than a tripod and cover a large area.

I think the use of a Really Right Stuff ball head to keep it more stable, would also be a prudent idea ! { of course unless you've got a VR hose }

Out of curiosity, how did you secure the hose to the head point? Couldn't make it out in the photo.

I had a metal tubular tripod that accidentally got shot in one leg. Eventually I took one good leg off and attached it to an extra pan head and I use it for a monopod/walking stick. I gave the other leg and original pan head to a photo buddy and I don't know what he's done with it. The bad leg went to the dump.
