Hungry Kingfisher in Action

I have been watch a family of Kingfisher birds for about three weeks now. This sequence shows the takeoff, flight, landing, surfacing, and then flying away from the fishing site.
Image #6 clearly shows the nictitating eye lid which protects the eyeball.
It has been very interesting observing these fast little birds.

This shot was from a different sequence. I score it a 10 for the diving bird because there are no ripples. LOL

Very hard captures well done ... such a fast little bird when diving
