I am capable of feeding myself and responsible enough to feed my children. I do not need the government spending my money to tell me what I can or cannot eat. Thank You very much.

If it wasn't for the AgDept controlling food production in this country, we would not have the obesity problem nor the cancer problem we are enduring now!

Those nutritional labels aren't the government telling people what to eat - they are providing information for people to base their own choices on. Since I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a couple years ago, I use the information about sugar in food often, and I would appreciate the added information proposed.

Way to go Trump. I agree with you SS319. He's the best president we had since the Bush's. The last one and his wife were both idiots. Rich idiots.

There were a number of nutrition experts who thought the new labeling standard had problems, that it has been postponed for further review is fine with me. (But I doubt that any changes they're likely to make will address the issues I have with nutrition labels, which has to do with rounding issues.)

Nutrition experts have changed their minds so many times in the last 60 years that it's hard to know what to believe any more. "Fat is bad, no, it's cholesterol that's bad, no, wait, cholesterol can be good and some fat is necessary", "Butter is worse for you than margarine, no wait, margarine is worse for you than butter", etc.

And remember when the 'food triangle' had you eating numerous portions of starches and breads every day? That appears to have been one of the triggers for the epidemic of overweight Americans.

After 2 heart attacks (one caused by high cholesterol), I rely on the nutritional labels on everything I eat to gauge how much fat I am consuming and help prevent another attack. Some seemingly innocuous foods have an amazingly high fat content, which I would not be aware of without labeling.

Same thing with sugar. I had no idea how much sugar I was consuming until I had to start cutting back. And lots of time low fat foods have lots of sugar.

I'm completely in favor of nutritional labeling, but it should be HONEST, FAIR AND COMPLETE labeling, not the mishmosh we have today.

Of course they're making choices for you, by limiting the options you have available to you.

I'm always interested in the most accurate information I can get. Can you please supply some links to the information (mishmash) that you're referring to or why the current labeling is inaccurate?

I'm sorry I don't seem to understand that. What options are being limited.

i'm so glad you're not concerned with all the crap they add to our food. choose all you want and you still get the crap. i'm glad you can trust the people who raise our cows, pigs, and chickens to give us pure meat on their own. i'm glad you are 1 out of the millions not brainwashed by the advertising campaign like the rest of us.
