These really are exceptional images, Bret! I double downloaded all of them and they're amazing!
I'm so glad you liked them sailorsmom. What the heck is double downloading? I have not heard that one!

OK davefales, here are 3 of the 4 non HDR images. Let me know if you like these better.
Hey Brent. I do like the non-cooked images. I don't mind HDR images, but most are too cooked for my liking. Just personal preference. ;-) Great shots, tell him he done good. LOL. Cheers.

Thanks flathead27ford for your thoughts on these photos. I am in agreement with you about the overcookedness! I will tell Randy that you think his shots are great.
Here is the more detailed report of what kind of gear he shoots with and his settings.
I use the Canon 5D Mark III on auto focus, but I shoot manual, always - unless I want to take some shots inside the airplane. Then, momentarily I'll switch it to full auto, but back to manual before exiting.
When I shoot manually, I don't have to worry about silhouettes when I'm shooting looking back up like during exit. If the the sun is in the shot, I'll still get a nice exposure of the jumpers. I also get a little higher frame rate since it doesn't have to constantly alter the exposure.
To start, I'll set the ISO very low - like at around 100. Then I set my shutter speed usually at 1/400 or 1/500. I'll adjust the aperture as needed by taking a shot through the window or out the open door, before putting my camera on my head.
My go-to lens is the Canon 20mm prime, but I've used the 16-35 f2.8 at between 16 - 20mm, both with excellent results. On occasion I'll go with my 8-15 Fisheye at 14 or 15mm. All lenses are L's.

So sorry.......my bad.........I looked over all of the categories and could not find one that fit. I know we are not supposed to post photos from other people. I have a skydiving friend that in my opinion is an excellent photographer. He gave me permission to post his photos since he is not an UHH member. I normally would not break the rules but since his photos are so amazing, I just had to do it. How many skydiving friends do you have anyways?!?!? I hope my fellow UHH member friends and admin all can forgive me just this once because of the exceptional subject matter and photography of my friend Randy Forbes. I hope you all will appreciate this visual treat the way I have. Please download each one of these.

Thanks Brent for these beautiful shots. I haven't jumped for about 50 years. I still have the original canopy I used. It is a modified (Double L) T-10 for sport parachuting. I actually got started by taking shots of a group of jumpers at Ft. Knox and got the bug. Unfortunately I don't have any of the photographs from that time, but I always enjoy these pictures.

Brilliant set Brent,

Geoff, you know these photographs were taken by my skydiving friend Randy Forbes, Right?!?! I just didn't want to take credit for another photographer's work. Thanks for the "brilliant set" comment, I will pass it along to Randy.

WOW SpyderJan, you must be one of the original jumpers! A real pioneer in the sport. I'm sure the chutes have evolved over the years. One thing I have noticed with Randy's photos is that the skydivers are older than I would have expected. I'm posting a shot that Randy took in the plane of the skydivers right before they jumped. I'm glad these photos could bring back some fond memories for you SpyderJan.
AzPicLady, I'm assuming that the two happy faces are because I sent all of Randy's comments on his equipment and settings!

sailorsmom, I tried doing that and nothing happened. Am I missing something? What happened for you?!?!?
I've noticed on smaller pics it doesn't work but it does work most of the time. Don't know why it doesn't work for you, Brent. Keep trying on other photos. Try it on ones that people post.

Beautiful shots, Brent!!!
Brings back memories from when I was young and foolish.... I enlisted with the Queen's Own Rifles because they were the only reserve regiment with an airborne detachment.
What Sue meant about the "double download" is the magnifier effect. In the first shot I noticed other divers way in the background.

Sorry, for me I have tried everything and nothing works.
