Thirsty wild goats in the outback.

We saw hundreds of wild goats on our recent 6 week camping holiday in central Australia. A surprise to me, didn't know there were 2.5 million ferrel goats out west. They are a menace, and hunted by helicopter or on foot, big money.
I wondered where they got their drinking water - rain is rare, the country deserty, the creeks and rivers bone dry.
Somewhere in South Australia we called in to a roadside rest stop for a bite to eat and this family of goats had taken over the picnic area. They were thirsty, desperate almost, and the rainwater tank there was dry. They are mighty tough animals.

Half your luck, Jude. I did my camping stint through the red center 12 years ago. Good pics, by the way.

Did you Earl? Every Aussie should do it. Would be a bit of a culture shock for some cityites I reckon.

Another good set Jude. Those goats sure looked like they appreciated the water!

Great shots. Well, you have just stumbled onto how to catch a bunch of these critters - a portable water source that is fenced in. Put the water out, get the goats in, close the gate, and viola!
