Memory Lane

Here I sit having a beer waiting for my flower garden to do something, when I start walking down "memory lane" through some picture I never bothered to post; probably not good enough. I came across a few shots taken with my Nikon P100. Obviously I like my Cosmos. It's amazing what a little age will do for photo quality.
#1 and #5 I like the most. Just can't decide which one. thanks.
Gary, these are super and deserve to be seen! I love the lighting and the drops clinging to many of the flowers. That dark pink/red Cosmos shot is outstanding. Each of these has something to make it special and interesting. Thank you for sharing this series!

Hi cam.79,
Number 1 and #5 are both good, but in different ways. Originally needed a "still life" for a little local competition, so I wanted something a bit different. It took nearly a 6 pack to get the picture I wanted. Sometimes you have to put in the extra effort.

Thank you so much for your comments, Carol. There is absolutely no substitute for real rain drops. The rain drop pics were taken on a cold wet morning after the sun was up for only an hour or two. Cosmos are a simple flower that look interesting at every stage of their life cycle. Can you believe I spent so much money to get sharper images than my old Nikon P100?

I can't decide which one I like the best, because they're all beautiful and technically perfect! I love the brand of ale!
Gary, those are really excellent images...such a nice series. You put some serious time in on those shots, and it sure paid off.

Hi canondave1,
At the time I started this little photo project, I had never before tried Far Tire Ale, but I bought a 6 pack because of the label. WOW, it turned out to be a very nice beer (ale). It is now on my favorite list. I can recoment this anytime you are in the backyard taking pictures.
Thank you for your comments.

Hi Lame-Duck,
Although I kind of know what I want in a picture, I just walked out in the backyard one cold wet morning and started looking for something interesting. If found several Ladybugs which are always good subjects. The Cosmos stand 4-6 feet tall making easy to get some good shot. I spent much more time on the beer photo.
Thank you for your comments.

Great shots. It's funny how microbreweries are going out of their way to come up with odd names for their beers.

Hi jerry41,
I agree, there are no shortage of microbreweries, and they come up with strangest names. I think Fat Tire has grown beyond a typical micro.
Thank you for your comment.

Hi angela k,
Back lighting flowers is fun and always produces a more dramatic affect. I agree, the Cosmos pictured in #5 is a nice shot. I really like the color and layers.
Thank you for your kind comments.
