These 2 photos were taken 1 week apart with different lenses. Which one is better? Why? Or do they both suck?
lens = 35mm f/1.8 1/180 at f/6.7
lens = 55-200 mm at 72mm 1/750 at f/4.2
i love the second one the best because of all the shadows but both are really good shots
you took the word's right out of my mouth

#2 is a slight bit better,I think !!
I like the different shades of blue in the first one but both pretty.
I like the play of sun and shadows on both.
The bottom one - colours and shadows are better.

better and more shallow DOF in the second one, neither suck but #1 has a blue tint from white balance to it. prefer #2.

#2 for me also. Better lighting and contrast.

I prefer the seond - richer blue, darker background.
I like the second Lily of the Nile the best. Tried growing them but the deer liked them to much. So I just enjoyed them at work. LOL
Thanks to each and every one of you for taking the time to look at and comment on these shots. I do appreciate it. There's a lesson in here somewhere...now I just have to find it.
I like the flower slightly better in the first one, but 2nd pic is overall preference due to background being less distracting and a better color. The first one is good, but left me wondering what that was in the background b/c there appear to be some swirly areas.

#2 because of background and DOF
